Competition Conditions

PERFORMANCE

1st Round – Petr Bezruč Library

• J. S. Bach – 6 Trio Sonatas, BWV 525-530 – A choice of any first or third movement from the set
• R. Schumann – Fuga II (from 6 Fugues on B-A-C-H, Op. 60)

2nd Round – Church of the Holy Ghost

• A choice of one piece
  1. J. I. Linek – III. Praeambulia in C. Transitus per omnes Tonos (ed. ARTTHON, 2009)
  2. Anonymous – Transitus tonorum (J. E. Kypta – Four Organ Books, ed. ARTTHON, 2005
  3. L. van Beethoven – I. Praeludium durch alle Tonarten, op. 39
• A choice of 4 contrasting pieces from one work by the old French organ composers (e.g. from Livre d’Orgue, Mass, Hymns, Magnificat, Suites)
• Any work by J. S. Bach from the following list:
  1. Prelude and Fugue in D, BWV 532
  2. Toccata and Fugue in d – ‘Dorian’, BWV 538
  3. Prelude (Toccata) and Fugue in F, BWV 540
  4. Prelude and Fugue in G, BWV 541

Duration (2nd Round): 35 minutes maximum.

3rd Round – Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady

• Petr Eben – Any organ composition or parts of a cycle (minimum 10 minutes)
• Any composition by a French composer of the 19th – 20th century
• Any composition suitable for the organ in Opava Cathedral (the candidate cannot repeat a composition played by him / her during the competition)

Duration (3rd Round): 50 minutes maximum.

Warning: If a competitor’s performance exceeds the time limit, it may be interrupted by the Jury.

IMPROVIZACE

Soutěžní repertoár:

• Improvizace variační formy na zadané téma duchovní písně
• Volná improvizace na porotou vybraná témata z tvorby Petra Ebena

Časový limit 1. kola: do 15 minut.
